Section 3 Portal opens to showcase available jobs and opportunities.
Good news for Waterbury residents with a low income and for Waterbury recipients of government housing assistance:
If you reside in Waterbury and are a recipient of government assistance for housing, or if your household income falls below the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development’s income limits, you may qualify as a “Section 3 worker”, targeted worker, or Section 3 business concern.
The Opportunity Portal
Section 3 Workers may use the Opportunity Portal site to Search for Jobs and post their profile/employment history for companies to search. Employers may use the site for posting job/contract opportunities or search for eligible workers to fill positions. Please go to the HUD Opportunity portal
The Section 3 program requires that recipients of certain HUD financial assistance, to the greatest extent possible, provide training, employment, contracting and other economic opportunities to low- and very low-income persons, especially recipients of government assistance for housing, and to businesses that provide economic opportunities to low- and very low-income persons. U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development’s Section 3 Opportunity Portal helps HUD grantees and Section 3 businesses meet their Section 3 benchmarks. Information for both job seekers and employers can be found here.
