The Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board (NRWIB) works to enhance economic development and workforce prosperity within the Greater Waterbury, Danbury and Torrington regions that it serves. One of five workforce development entities in Connecticut, the NRWIB focuses on aligning the needs of job seekers and employers, fostering a skilled workforce, and promoting economic growth through strategic initiatives and partnerships.

One of the primary functions of the NRWIB is to assess the region's workforce needs and develop strategies to address them effectively. By conducting labor market research, analyzing industry trends, and identifying skill gaps in the local economy NRWIB can tailor its programs and services to meet the demands of employers and help job seekers acquire the skills needed for in-demand occupations.

In addition to serving job seekers, the NRWIB also collaborates closely with employers to meet their workforce needs. This involves engaging with businesses to understand their hiring requirements, offering customized recruitment services, and facilitating partnerships between employers and training providers. By fostering strong relationships with employers, the NRWIB helps ensure that training programs align with industry demands and that job seekers have access to job opportunities.

Furthermore, the NRWIB actively collaborates with educational institutions, community organizations, and other stakeholders to leverage resources and maximize impact. Through partnerships and collaboration, the NRWIB can expand its reach, enhance service delivery, and create synergies that benefit the entire community.

By connecting job seekers with employment opportunities, supporting businesses in meeting their workforce needs, and fostering partnerships for innovation and collaboration, the NRWIB contributes to building a vibrant and resilient economy where individuals can thrive and succeed.
