Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board's President and CEO to speak at the Virtual Annual CAACE Conference on Friday, March 11th
Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board’s President and CEO Catherine Awwad, and Job Funnel Career Navigator Paul Dzialo, are scheduled to speak at The Connecticut Association for Adult and Continuing Education (CAACE) 41st annual virtual conference next week, March 10, 2022.
CAACE is the undisputed leader of advocacy for adult education. The organization offers information to those who wish to obtain their GED/High school diploma, provides ongoing support to Connecticut’s adult educators, and meets yearly to discuss the changing needs of adult education in Connecticut.
Catherine will speak about a unique partnership that will be implemented for those who want to pursue a career in manufacturing, at no cost to the participant. Filling manufacturing vacancies is more important than ever. This program would contribute to lower unemployment and providing the opportunity for high paying positions and a robust education in plastics manufacturing, which is unique to this region.
Paul will highlight Northwest Construction Career initiatives for 2021-2022. This will include two NRWIB programs; basic construction CORE and Environmental Remediation Job Training. There will be an introduction to www.nrwib.org featuring the titles of all training programs.
President and CEO Catherine Awwad participates in many statewide discussions about the manufacturing industry and continuing adult education. In addition to being a member of the CAACE Board, Awwad also is a member of US Conference of Mayors, the Workforce Development Council, and the Naugatuck Adult Education Advisory Committee. Dzialo formerly served as the Vice President of CAACE and currently assists in enrolling adults into a Construction Training program.
