Junior students at Oliver Wolcott Technical School in Torrington, CT took advantage of a resume writing workshop presented by the CT Department of Labor (DOL). Staff from DOL and the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board worked with the students to create CTHires.com accounts, start their first resume and provided information about potential career pathways.

Matthew Keen, an economics teacher at Oliver Wolcott Tech, noted that all the students were engaged in each of the activities, “To say you opened some eyes would be an understatement,” he continued, “We are looking forward to more fun projects like this in the future.”

Oliver Wolcott Technical School hosts students from many nearby towns and provides a world-class, unique and rigorous learning environment for high school students and adult learners. The NRWIB is excited to be involved in the process of lifelong learning and promoting academic success with students in Northwest CT.
