The healthcare field needs dedicated, helpful staff to help those in need in many different industries!

If we have noticed anything the last two years in our news cycles, it’s that there is a huge shortage of labor across all industries in our country. Yes, waiting in line at Dunkin Donuts every morning can be irritating, but imagine needing medical care and needing to wait in a long line because your Doctor’s office is missing critical staff at the check in window.. The two situations are completely different, but one of them doesn’t have to be (NOT talking about making your coffee at home!)

With the Healthcare industry expected to literally skyrocket growth over the next 11 years, the need for trained workers now is bigger than ever. Some misconceptions about healthcare are that people need to be in school for an extremely long time, but that may come from thinking you need a doctorate to work in the medical field. In fact, you can take a CNA course to prepare you for your state license in about 3 weeks! Certified Nurse’s Aides start at the ground floor, but do important work in the field for nurses and other staff with their patients. This is a physically active job and requires personal care of patients, but it is where most nurses begin in their careers. Sometimes on-the-job training is offered and can lead to more experience should you want to go further and get another license to work in the medical field.

Phlebotomy – not for the faint of heart – is also expected to grow! BLS expects that Employment of phlebotomists is projected to grow 22 percent from 2020 to 2030, much faster than the average for all occupations. They work mainly in hospitals, labs, doctors’ offices or blood draw centers. Phlebotomy technicians can find courses that can get them trained in 80 hours, or just a few weeks to be prepared for their exam.

The turnaround time for the certification may seem like a lot, but a traditional four-year school is definitely longer! If you’re interested and motivated, healthcare could use you! In most cases, training is free or reduced and supportive services are available. Call us today to get started (203) 574-6971
