CT Residents have the opportunity to train to be certified in Amazon Web Service

Governor Ned Lamont has announced a collaboration between the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU), the Office of Workforce Strategy, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide technical skills training and education to more than 2,000 Connecticut residents by 2024. Through this initiative, all Connecticut community colleges will be able to offer courses and certificates that align with skills needed to pursue in-demand careers in technical fields. The colleges will also work with interested high schools to provide access to cloud computing curricula.

AWS Academy provides higher education institutions with free, ready to-teach cloud computing curriculum developed and maintained by AWS. With professional development opportunities and courses aligned to AWS Certifications, AWS Academy empowers educators to deliver hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and in-demand cloud jobs.

The AWS Academy curriculum is designed to help students develop technical expertise in cloud computing and help them prepare for AWS Certification.

Upon successful completion of an AWS Academy course, students get access to a free practice exam and serialized discounted certification coupon for AWS Certification exams. AWS Certifications recognize individuals with the technical skills and expertise to design, deploy, and operate applications and operations on AWS.
