The Future Bankers Program consists of three online courses:
- Principles of Banking Course: This course explores the fundamental principles and practices of banking and credit in the United States and provides an excellent overview of financial services, including information on human resources, marketing, and ethics.
Topics to be covered include: money and interest, negotiable instruments, mortgages, commercial lending, security and ethics, and the role of banking in today’s economy.
For their participation in the Principles of Banking course, students will receive three ACE-accredited, transferable college credits issued by the Center for Financial Training
- Practell: Teller Training: This course offers real-life examples for real-life experiences to increase customer satisfaction and reduces onsite training time. There are over 200 topics covered on the basics of tellering and much more throughout this course.
- OnCourse Learning Catalog: A customized course specifically for students participating in this program by the Center for Financial Training.
During the final phase of the program, students will participate in a job shadow experience in area banks. This will include the variety of jobs available within banking, beyond the teller. Students will be invited to step outside of the classroom to experience the role of professionals within the financial field. For many, this will be their first experience which requires accountability and professionalism, and it is this hands-on, pragmatic approach which will provide the real-life skills needed in a competitive, global market.
