Brownfield’s Job Training Program: Environmental Field Technician. The Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board’s Brownfield Job Training Program is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency. This eight-week job training program is available to men and women in the Northwest Regional Area. The training offered under this program will be 40 hours per week, 8 week curriculum of instruction in the following: OSHA / EPA laws and regulations; OSHA Hazwoper Training; Underground / above ground storage tank removal; Blood-bourn pathogens; OSHA hazard communications; Hazardous material handling; Confined space entry; Safety awareness in work environment; Personal protective equipment and respirators; Lead and asbestos abatement; and RCA / DOT hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation.

Become an Environmental Field Technician

The Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board’s Brownfield Job Training Program is funded by the Environmental Protection Agency.

This eight-week job training program is available to men and women in the Northwest Regional Area


Program Requirements:

  • MUST: Be an adult at least 18 years of age
  • MUST: Have a GED with a 9th grade reading level, or
  • High School Diploma
  • MUST: Show Birth Certificate and SS
  • MUST: Be able to lift 40 lbs, pass drug test and physical 
  • MUST: Have a valid driver's license and transportation


The anticipated training offered under this program will be 40 hours per week, 8 week curriculum of instruction in the following:

  • OSHA / EPA laws and regulations; 
  • OSHA Hazwoper Training;
  • Underground / above ground storage tank removal;
  • Blood–bourn pathogens;
  • OSHA hazard communications; 
  • Hazardous material handling;
  • Confined space entry; 
  • Safety awareness in work environment;
